Our August visit saw us in Leicestershire on a beautiful sunny afternoon.
We went to visit Honeytrees Tropical Gardens. It was so surprising to see a tropical garden near Grantham! We could have been in a far more exotic location. The proud owners were on hand to talk about their journey to develop this most interesting garden, explain the planting and answer questions on the garden. The more intrepid of us climbed the viewing platforms built around some trees to view the garden from above. One of the tree houses included a wood burner, fridge and bar!
Tea and delicious homemade cake were served on their terrace alongside a water feature incorporating an old mill stone with views of Belvoir Castle on the horizon. All proceeds from the visit were donated to the NGS charities.
