Bletchley Park Visit
46 members enjoyed a day out on 22nd March at Bletchley Park, Milton Keynes; the wartime home of the Enigma codebreakers.
It was a bit breezy, but otherwise dry and sunny for the walk round the grounds of the mansion, and there was so much information in the various displays that it was quite a challenge to take in just how amazing it was that all this brilliant work went on, with up to 9,000 people involved, and yet only recently have their achievements come to light and been recognised.
I think everyone found themselves reflecting on What if…..? – without Churchill’s “Golden geese that never cackled”, the war could have turned out very differently!
